We are dedicated, working pastoral priests who work run our faith communities for people disillusioned with mainstream churches, or who are marginalised by society for whatever reason. We work with people as best we can and dedicate our lives for the good of others. We are not a money orientated and profit motivated priests who will scrape a living doing just about anything someone asks of them to the detriment or degradation of our integrity, dignity and theological backgrounds and most importantly - as a disregard for the glorifying of God's name.
We know that there are some independent clergy who hawk their priesthood to earn a living blessing civil ceremonies and civil marriages and do little else... but we don't!
We are working, pastoral, parish priests who have a 21st century approach to ministry. What we are saying here is that we see the request for a holy ceremony (when it has been denied or condemned) an equally important part of our entire ministry. This is so desperately needed to fully address the spiritual needs within 21st century lives. Although our faith is ancient in its roots - we simply want to reach out and express gospel concern to all people - inclusively - as Christ would.
Those who are struggling to find a priest to bless their civil marriage or for Holy Baptism or as a compassionate ear, are welcome to contact us and we will help them as much as we can. Being denied access to a church is completely different than merely choosing not to use one. Our experience recently is that men and women are seeing independent clergy as nothing more than another commercial element of their wedding day or child's christening/baptism.
We have this in writing so as to avoid those who see us as anything but men and women of God.
